Medical Information Technology graduates prepare medical records and reports, maintain paper and electronic files, order supplies, perform accounting procedures, work with medical insurance and coding, and receive patients in a variety of health care settings.
The three degree tracks you can choose include Medical Coding, Electronic Medical Records, and Medical Office Management. Students enrolled in the degree or diploma programs are required to do an internship or capstone course.

There are many exciting opportunities in this area of Health Informatics. Graduates of the MIT program will work in the area of Medical Reception, Medical Records, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Admissions, or any other job in the Medical Office Setting.
This program has no special admission requirements. Please consult HCC’s general admission requirements.
The AAS degree in Medical Information Technology varies by the Track you choose, but each can be completed in 2 1/2 years.

You can transfer your two-year degree to other institutions to receive a bachelor's degree: work with your Program Coordinator and an advisor from your university of choice.
