Quality academic programming designed to engage and inspire our youth.

Registration for KICCS is now open!  For complete program information -- including course descriptions and registration instructions -- see the program announcements below or contact Workforce Solutions at (270) 707-3750.

To register: 1) complete the registration form on the program announcement; 2) complete the insurance form; 3) copy your proof of insurance card; and 4) submit your registration form, insurance form, and a copy of your insurance card with the appropriate registration fee for each student to the Workforce Solutions office in Auditorium Room 13 at HCC.

A limited number of scholarships are available for KICCS. To apply for a scholarship: 1) complete teh scholarship application form; 2) obtain a letter of recommendation from a teacher; and 3) submit your application form and recommendation letter to HCC no later than 4:30 on Friday, May 23, 2014. 


Kids in College Can Soar (KICCS) -- College with a Twist!  Summer Camp for 1-6 Graders.

Registration is now open!  KICCS is an interactive summer camp designed to inspire a love of learning and help students discover opportunities provided by a college education.  More than 5600 students from across the mid-south have attended KICCS since it was launched in 1991.  Participants are treated like real college students -- complete with freshman orientation, personalized class schedules, and graduation.  Every class features hands-on activities to make learning fun!  Each KICCS camp meets for five half-days from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.  HCC offers five weeks of KICCS each summer.  Students can register for any number of weeks.

Career Craze -- Hands-On Career Exploration.  Summer Camp Style.  7-9 Graders.

Registration is now open!.  HCC will offer two Career Craze camps to give students the opportunity to explore technical careers during four activity-packed afternoons, 12:30 to 4:30, led by college faculty.  Students may participate in a Precision Farming Career Craze or a Robotics Career Craze.  There is no fee to participate.  Enrollment is limited.

Youth Volunteer Basics -- Expert advice for volunteers ages 12 to 17.

Registration is now open! Volunteering is a great way to get connected with your community, discover your personal strengths and career interests, and develop workplace skills.  Find out what makes a good volunteer and learn how your experience can help you in the future.  Participate in fun classroom activities to learn how to put your best foot forward and then practice what you've learned in our college classrooms with youth camp students.  Class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the Monday of each KICCS week.  Choose one Monday to attend.  Registration fee includes classroom materials, snacks and an HCC youth camp STAFF t-shirt.

Holiday Super Saturday -- Creative Workshops for K-6 Graders.

The 2014 date for Holiday Super Saturday has not been set.  Watch this space for updates.  Hopkinsville Community College and Christian County Public Schools are pleased to host Holiday Super Saturday, a jolly morning of learning and creativity for students in kindergarten through grade six.  Students will choose one workshop to attend from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on HCC's campus.  The $45 registration fee includes all classroom supplies and a snack.

Saturday Scholars -- Saturday Classes for Academically Talented 1-8 Graders.

The 2014 dates for Saturday Scholars have not been set.  Watch this space for updates.  Hopkinsville Community College and Christian County Public Schools are pleased to host Saturday Scholars, a series of Saturday classes for academically talented students in grades one through eight.  This program is open to all students in western Kentucky who meet one of the five certification criteria.  Classes meet on HCC's campus on three Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  The $65 registration fee includes all classroom supplies, a snack and a Saturday Scholars t-shirt.

Students choose one class for their grade level to attend for all three weeks.  Classes feature academic topics presented in a format that encourages student involvement and promotes academic rigor.  Saturday Scholars classes incorporate hands-on learning and develop critical thinking.  Each class offers an opportunity for high ability students to explore an academic area of interest in a nurturing environment with other bright students and an exceptional instructor who enjoys being an educator.
